NaBloPoMo August 2013

Middle of summer and I have been having hot flashes like crazy so here again I am going to ask for input from my blog readers (uh hmmm, you all) how do you ladies & gents warm up you are chilly?

If I’m at home and I’m chilly I run a steamy hot bath. Usually I don’t like baths because, let’s face it folks, you are sitting in like dead skin and nastiness so I make sure there are lots of lavendar bubbles so I can’t see the dirt and filthy stuff my body projects into the bathtub. (Sidebar- I take showers if you can’t tell… Lol!)  When I’m not feeling so hot (sick) or when I am cold (which isn’t often lately) I like to take baths only when I am not feeling good or cold though… Lol.

I also have a habit of covering up with a  blanket on the couch whether I am cold or not, I think this is a trait of my Momma’s but not just any ole blanket an afghan blanket like the one shown below, the one shown is just an image I found but a lot of the ladies in my family make these blankets. So, it’s like family traditions to have like five throughout the house. 🙂

About Amber Day Hicks

I am a wife and momma, sweet tea drinking, southern woman. I am very opinionated and do speak my mind and sometimes I am wrong but don't tell the hubs, lol. I will always be Daddy's little girl even though he passed away at age 46 from melanoma stage 4 skin cancer. My momma is the strongest woman I know and she loves me no matter what. I am blessed to be surrounded by a great variety of people from different walks of my life but they are always there for me. My baby girl is just like me. Fireball in the making.... lol. Not all who wander are lost....

  1. I do the SAME THING if I’m on a couch. I always cuddle up with a blanket or afghan! I only have one afghan that my grandmother made. I wish I had more (or I wish I had the skillz to make one myself!!) –Lisa
